O falecimento do radialista Joel Magno foi lamentado pelo vice-presidente da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues. O dirigente ressaltou a importância de Magno, na qualidade de desportista como um dos grandes incentivadores do futebol feminino no Estado. “Ele foi um digno e honrado radialista, que também foi um incentivador do Futebol Feminino, inclusive tendo sido presidente do Fluminense de Futebol Feminino. Meus pêsames e que Deus possa conceder o conforto e resignação aos familiares enlutados”, enfatizou.
Com mais de 60 anos de carreira. J. Magno, como era mais conhecido, fez história com slogans como “O mais caro é o mais procurado” e “O Rei do Rádio”, ainda revelou vários nomes que estão até hoje no rádio feirense, como Paulo José, Ed Carlos e Othon Carlos. Iniciou no rádio em 1948 e foi um dos fundadores da Rádio Sociedade de Feira de Santana. Famoso pelo seu “Atrações J. Magno, estava fora do rádio há alguns anos, mas nunca perdeu o encanto pela profissão.
