A Copa Libertadores de 2024 já conhece 15 dos 16 clubes classificados para as oitavas de final. O sorteio dos confrontos será nesta próxima segunda (3), às 13h (de Brasília).
A última vaga sairá dias depois do sorteio. No Grupo C, o Grêmio teve dois jogos adiados por causa das enchentes no Rio Grande do Sul. Essas partidas serão disputadas na terça-feira (4), contra o Huachipato, e na sexta (8), diante do eliminado Estudiantes. O The Strongest já está classificado. Grêmio e Huachipato brigam pela outra vaga.
Ainda sem a definição sobre o Grêmio, estão classificados os outros seis times brasileiros que começaram a fase de grupos: Atlético-MG, Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, Palmeiras e São Paulo.
Além disso, estão garantidas na próxima fase equipes de outros cinco países:
Três argentinos: River Plate, San Lorenzo e Talleres
Dois bolivianos: Bolívar e The Strongest
Dois uruguaios: Nacional e Peñarol
Um chileno: Colo-Colo
Um colombiano: Junior Barranquilla
Todas as equipes serão colocadas em dois potes no sorteio. Os times do primeiro pote irão enfrentar os do segundo nas oitavas, sem qualquer tipo de restrição.
Pote 1: Fluminense, São Paulo, Primeiro do Grupo C (a definir), Junior Barranquilla, Bolívar, Palmeiras, Atlético-MG e River Plate;
Pote 2: Colo-Colo, Talleres, Segundo do Grupo C (a definir), Botafogo, Flamengo, San Lorenzo, Peñarol e Nacional.
Os duelos das oitavas de final estão previstos apenas para agosto. As equipes que estão no pote 2 na farão o jogo de ida em casa, decidindo na casa de quem for o adversário vindo do pote 1.
