O Bahia divulgou o balanço financeiro do ano de 2023 com déficit de R$ 66 milhões. O exercício marcou a primeira temporada do Grupo City à frente do futebol do Tricolor. Desde setembro de 2022, o grupo é dono de 90% da SAF do clube.
“Essa fotografia financeira se deve, principalmente, aos gastos efetuados para renovação do plantel da equipe profissional, bem como quitação substancial dos parcelamentos/processos administrativos tributários e outros passivos advindos do ECB”, diz o documento. No acordo com o Bahia, o Grupo City se comprometeu em aportar R$ 1 bilhão, sendo um valor mínimo de R$ 500 milhões para a compra de jogadores; R$ 300 milhões para o pagamento de dívidas e R$ 200 milhões para infraestrutura, categorias de base, capital de giro, entre outros.
Em 2022, o Bahia fechou o ano com déficit de R$ 77.758 milhões, o maior valor desde 2017. Em 2020, foi um negativo de R$ 50 milhões; mesmo que em 2021, ano do rebaixamento para a Série B, tenha tido um superávit de R$ 27 milhões.
Já Em 2023, ano de retorno do clube para a Série A, houve aumento nas receitas. O total foi de R$ 158.362 milhões, sendo o maior valor (R$ 76.538 milhões) através de direitos de transmissão. Em 2022, o clube teve receitas de R$ 108.346 milhões.
