Buscando o empate, o Furacão foi para cima e passou a pressionar o Flamengo nos minutos iniciais do segundo tempo. Logo aos dois, Thonny Anderson aproveitou bobeira da defesa carioca e invadiu a área para bater. Mas novamente Diego Alves apareceu para fazer a intervenção.
Apesar das tentativas do Furacão, foi o Flamengo quem voltou a marcar. Já nos minutos finais, Renê levantou bola na área, e novamente Bruno Henrique apareceu para ampliar para a equipe de Jorge Jesus: 2 a 0 para o líder do Brasileirão.
