Diego Hypolito surpreendeu os convidados no palco do Altas Horas deste sábado, 30/11. O bicampeão mundial no solo e medalhista olímpico na Rio 2016 anunciou no programa de Serginho Groisman que vai se aposentar do esporte.
“Eu estou anunciando a minha aposentadoria na ginástica, que foi a melhor coisa que eu vivi na minha vida, tudo que eu passei. Foi tudo muito bom de verdade. Tive uma carreira muito abençoada, só tenho que agradecer. É o início de uma nova temporada”, conta, Hypolito.
Com 33 anos, Diego é bicampeão mundial no solo e tem outras três medalhas em mundiais na sua especialidade. A medalha olímpica de prata na Rio 2016 também veio no solo. Durante os quase 19 anos de carreira, ele também conquistou outras oito medalhas em Jogos Pan-Americanos e inúmeras em etapas de Copas do Mundo.
Nascido em Santo André, São Paulo, Diego é irmão de Daniele Hypolito, outra expoente da ginástica artística brasileira. Apesar de nascer em SP, ele começou no esporte no Flamengo, onde se destacou e passou a figurar na seleção brasileira.
