O Bahia anunciou, na manhã desta terça-feira, a venda do zagueiro Juninho. O jogador foi negociado com o FC Midtjylland, da Dinamarca, por aproximadamente R$ 10 milhões. O valor da negociação será dividido entre o Tricolor e o Palmeiras, já que as duas equipes possuíam 50% dos direitos econômicos do atleta. Além do valor financeiro a receber, o Bahia terá direito a 5% do valor do lucro de uma futura negociação. Ou seja, se Juninho foi vendido por um montante superior a R$ 10 milhões, o Tricolor receberá 5% da diferença.
O Bahia comprou 50% dos direitos econômicos de Juninho em outubro de 2019 por aproximadamente 1,3 milhão de euros, o que correspondia à época a cerca de R$ 5,7 milhões. No acordo, o Tricolor comprou 20% dos direitos junto ao Palmeiras, 10% com o Coritiba e outros 20% junto ao Junior Team, clube que revelou o zagueiro.
No momento da compra do zagueiro, o euro estava cotado em R$ 4,16. Atualmente, a cotação do Euro é de R$ 6,12. Dessa forma, os 100% dos direitos econômicos do zagueiro foram vendidos por aproximadamente 1,63 milhão de euros.
O time paulista continuou, naquele momento, com 50% dos direitos econômicos. Pelo acordo firmado entre as equipes, os direitos federativos de Juninho continuariam ligados ao Palmeiras até a quitação do pagamento, já que os R$ 5,7 milhões foram divididos para serem pagos ao longo de três anos. A quitação seria em 2022.
Na negociação entre as equipes, além da continuidade dos direitos econômicos com o Palmeiras, ficou acertado que a equipe paulista continuaria pagando parte dos salários de Juninho até o final de 2021. Este acordo foi explicado pelo próprio presidente do Bahia em uma postagem no Twitter em março deste ano. A estimativa é que o clube tenha economizado cerca de R$ 2,6 milhões nesse período com o jogador.
